About this piece
The story
Figures in the Wind shows the traditional dress and dance of the Lori people of Iran. Arvin painted it on silk in 2026.
Look closely at the flowers scattered across the turquoise dress, the paisleys on the golden robe, the scarves lifting in the wind and the mountain village behind the dancers.
Framing
Framing: Comes stretched on a wooden canvas frame, so it can be displayed as it is, without a separate frame.
For framing silk, ask your framer for conservation framing: acid-free mounting, a mat or spacers so the silk doesn't touch the glazing, and UV-filtering glass or acrylic.
Caring for your painting
- Hang away from direct sunlight. Silk dyes are sensitive to UV light and can fade over time.
- Choose a dry room with steady temperature. Avoid bathrooms, kitchens and spots above radiators or heaters.
- If framed, keep the glass or acrylic clean with a dry, soft cloth. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the frame.
- Do not wash, iron or fold the painting. Handle unframed silk with clean, dry hands, holding it by the edges.
